HyperloopOne Tour

Description: Focus on the Future participants will have the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes peek at the HyperLoop one facility in one of our offsite tours.

Important Details

  • # of Tours: 2 Tours Available
  • Time: 1:30 PM & 2:00 PM (Attendees will return to hotel by 3:30/3:45pm)
  • Cost: $35 per person
  • # of People: 25 people each tour
  • Location: Santa Fe Street at Sacramento Street in downtown Los Angeles

Tour attendees will need to complete nondisclosure agreements

 

Technical Tour #2

Metro Regional Connector via Metro Bike Share

Description: The Regional Connector is a 1.9-mile underground light rail segment which will connect:  1) Long Beach on the Blue Line to Pasadena and Azusa on what is now the northern section of the Gold Line and 2) Santa Monica on the Expo Line to East Los Angeles on the southern section of the Gold Line.  As part of the project, 3 new stations will line the route connecting the Metro Gold Line Little Tokyo Station to the 7th Street/Metro Center Station. The project broke ground on September 30, 2014, with construction anticipated to be complete in 2020.

  • Tour begins at hotel and travels via Red Line subway to Downtown.
  • Tour participants will tour the parts of Metro’s Regional Connector to get a sense of Metro’s efforts to enhance regional mobility. Attendees will get the chance to view select Regional Connector construction sites* to see the project’s progress.
  • While on the tour, participants will get to experience the First/Last Mile connection via Metro’s Bikeshare while riding along bike infrastructure in Downtown.

Technical Tour #3

Joint Development Tour: From Delis to the Walk of Fame - Metro’s Red Line

Description: Tour Joint Development sites in some of LA’s most exciting, diverse and growing neighborhoods, from Delis to the Walk of Fame.

  • Tour will start with a brief overview of Metro’s Joint Development efforts
  • The group will then depart from the hotel to travel via Metro Red Line to Westlake/ MacArthur Park. Westlake/MacArthur Park, one of the densest communities west of Chicago and home to the famous Langer’s deli.  Here, you will tour the MacArthur Park Apartments, an affordable housing project built over Metro’s subway.
  • Then travel to Hollywood/Vine. Hollywood, home of the Walk of Fame.  Here, you will be provided with an overview of the mixed use, 4-star W Hotel and condos project and will visit the adjacent and equally upscale 1600 Vine apartments.
  • Lastly, Travel back to Hollywood/Highland where tour-goers are free to continue your own tour of Hollywood on foot or on the Red Line, or head back to the hotel.

Technical Tour #4

Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project

Description: 8.5-mile light rail line with eight stations, extending between the Metro Expo Line to the Metro Green Line. The line traverses Crenshaw Blvd., and then follows the Harbor Subdivision Right-of-Way to the Metro Green Line. Service will overlap with the Metro Green Line between the future Aviation/Century station and the existing Redondo Beach station. Once constructed, the line will provide passenger access to LAX terminals via bus shuttles from Aviation/Century station. The project broke ground on January 21, 2014 with construction anticipated to be complete in 2019.  

  • Depart from the hotel via bus and head to the Crenshaw Project office to get a project overview and view time lapse footage of the project’s construction
  • Next, travel to a station* under construction to see the project up close.
  • From there, will take a tour of the project’s alignment to view the project’s construction progress, and see where the line will take riders once in operation in 2019.

Technical Tour #5

BRT – Orange Line

Description: Time to get super multi-modal:  this tour includes four modes of transportation! Travel via Red Line Subway to the recently completed North Hollywood Station Underpass, in order to reach the Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit Line.  Visit Balboa Park and adjacent multi-use path with natural-style landscaping.

  • Tour starts at the hotel and travels via Red Line Subway to the North Hollywood terminus.  
  • Participants walk through the recently completed North Hollywood Station Underpass to access Orange Line Station.   
  • Ride along the Orange Line’s dedicated right-of-way.  Will stop at stations along the way for a quick walk on the adjacent multi-use path with natural-style landscaping.  
  • Second stop is the Chatsworth Metrolink Station and Orange Line Terminus.

  • Time: 12:30 PM (3 hours - including 2-hours on-board bus, 30 minutes visiting Orange Line stations, and 1 hour for roundtrip travel between the Lowes Hotel and North Hollywood Station)
