Focus on the Future Poster Session
Application Deadline: Friday, October 3
Criteria and Relevance to Focus on the Future Audience: Posters need to focus on topics relevant to the SHCC’s 25 local county transportation agencies and their partners delivering super majority voter-approved transportation sales tax measures throughout California. Topics need to be current (within 1-2 years).
To Apply: Complete and submit this application and return via email to Jenny Devine at selfhelpcounties@gmail.com. The SHCC Executive Director and the Focus on the Future Conference Planning Committee will review applications and make selections that best relate to the content and topics that are most relevant for the 2025 Focus on the Future Conference.
Selection Guidelines — Selections will be based on:
- Relevance of the topic submitted to the 20254 Focus on the Future;
- Originality and quality of ideas;
- Value of content and lessons learned to conference attendees; and
- Completeness of application.
Poster Session applicants may submit with the reminder that member agencies are dedicated to keeping the faith of the voting public who provide the authority and the funding so that we may deliver the priority transportation projects that Californians depend upon every day. SHCC is dedicated to ensuring sound public policy so that the State of California can meet our transportation infrastructure needs. SHCC works closely with the California Transportation Commission, the California Department of Transportation, elected officials as well as other public and private sector interests.
Marketing or sales materials or posters focused on promotion of a particular product or company will not be considered.
Poster and Station Logistics: We will be placing the project posters on a poster board display this year. Space allocations will allow for one poster on each side of the display. The maximum size of posters is 36” h x 48” w and should be unmounted (please to not mount on foam core). You will be responsible for finding your location and putting up your posters no later 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9. Each poster station will be equipped a poster identification card and four tacks. Poster Sessions will be formally presented between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, concurrent with mobile tours, and each selected poster must have a presenter available to discuss the poster with the audience at that time.
Electronic Submittals: All selected applicants will also need to submit an electronic version of their poster for display on the 2025 Focus on the Future virtual platform, Whova.
